Kia EV9 Price in india, colours, Specs, Features Images and auto Facts

Kia EV9 Price in india: It would have been shocking to hear ten years ago that Kia is now a market leader in electric automobiles. If you hadn’t told us it makes a car that can outperform a Porsche and is developing a full-size SUV to compete with the Range Rover, we would not have taken you seriously.

But that is exactly where we are right now. The transition from internal combustion to electrification has created a new normal, and some automakers have adjusted to it more quickly than others. The Kia EV6 GT, a performance-tuned model of the best electric car, and the forthcoming EV9 have made Kia one of the early non-Tesla success stories.

Production versions of the EV9, which debuted as a concept vehicle at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show, are scheduled to go on sale in the first quarter of 2023. After the debut of the vehicle’s design, production on the car began quickly. We’ve included all we know about the Kia EV9 below.

Kia EV9: Price speculation and availability

The cost of the EV9 is something Kia has remained mum on. Due to the EV9’s increased size and second row of seats, we expect it to be priced slightly higher than the EV6 GT, which retails for roughly $60,000.

This implies that it won’t be as expensive as a Range Rover, but it will still be the most expensive Kia ever made. It is predicted to be its largest market outside of the United States, and it has the potential to steal customers from luxury brands like Mercedes and Tesla.

All-electric SUVs like the Tesla Model X, Mercedes EQB, and the upcoming Rivian R1S are all on the market, but only the Kia is expected to be competitively priced.

According to Kia, the production version of the EV9 Concept will be shown off in the first half of 2023, with deliveries starting in the second part of the same year.

Kia EV9: Range and battery

Kia has not revealed any specifics about the EV9’s construction, although we know it will share the E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) of the EV6. Thanks to the 800V architecture of the system, a fast charger of equal power can be used to rapidly charge the battery pack to a maximum of 350 kW.

The business claims to be developing “high-capacity batteries of 100 kWh or more”—larger than the current generation of E-GMP, which is used in the Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5, and Genesis GV60—to fulfil the demands of future large sedans and SUVs.

The Hyundai Motor Group, which also includes Kia and Genesis, has announced that the EV9 will have a “V2L (vehicle to load) feature,” which will enable external devices to use the vehicle battery as a source of power, and that it will have a “generous driving range” of 500 kilometres or more on an 18-minute change.

To give you an idea, the maximum range of an EV6 is 328 miles. The EV9’s range will likely be lower than that of the EV8 due to its larger size and less aerodynamic design. With a 100 kWh battery pack, the range may exceed 350 miles.

Kia EV9: Performance

The company Kia has not released any official performance data to the general public. Two independent motors provide all-wheel drive, and the vehicle can sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in under five seconds. A single motor driving the rear wheels could make a cheaper, more accessible variant appear in the future.

What sort of off-roading features the Kia EV9 (an electric SUV) will have, or whether it will get a GT suffix like the EV6, remains to be seen. You can forget about the EV9 matching the EV6 GT’s 600+ hp without that badge.

Kia EV9: Design

It’s a big, square area. That’s a pretty good summary of the EV9 Concept, however it’s never easy to say how much of the initial design will make it into the finished vehicle. The next-generation huge Kia will look extremely similar to the concept, as evidenced by test photographs of a disguised prototype, right down to the trademark “tiger face” grille.

Extending 194 inches in length, 81 inches in breadth, and 70 inches in height, the whole thing is a massive structure. In terms of wheelbase, it measures in at 122 inches. It’s slightly more compact than the 2022 Range Rover, which measures 199 inches in length, 87 inches in width (with mirrors folded down), and 73.6 inches in height.

The EV9 Concept’s solar panel is mounted in an unusual location on the bonnet, which adds visual interest. However, Kia has not provided any details about how much of an effect this would have on charging the battery or how much additional range may be created on a sunny day. The manufacturer hasn’t even said whether or not this feature would be included in the finished EV9 vehicle.

An other unique feature is the rear doors, which are outward-swinging and rear-hinged like those on a Rolls-Royce or the new Ferrari Purosangue SUV. Despite how great they seem, these doors are probably not going to make it into the final product for safety and usability issues.

Kia’s largest U.S.-market offering is the EV9, which is just slightly shorter than the Telluride but somewhat longer than the Sorento.

Kia EV9: Interior and features

Manufacturers really put on a show inside their concept cars. The Kia EV9 Concept is emblematic of this movement, with its retractable steering wheel and enormous 27-inch dashboard screen suggesting a future in which drivers will rarely use their cars’ manual controls.

Naturally, very little of this will really be included in the final version of EV9. Keeping the cabin uncluttered is appealing to us, and we’re also great fans of low-key lighting. But it’s likely that we’ll see a regular steering wheel and a reduced screen size.

Furthermore, the chairs, especially the head rests, will most certainly be modified, and it would be great if the panoramic glass roof remained unchanged. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the interior’s outstanding light, spaciousness, and airiness will remain in the finished product as well. We are especially interested in knowing how much room the third-row of seats takes up in the trunk.

Automode, Kia’s semi-autonomous driving system, will make its debut in the EV9, the firm announced. Drivers will be able to pay for new software features after delivery using a feature-on-demand (FoD) system, and these features can be updated wirelessly via the car’s internet connection.

Kia EV9: Outlook

Although the concept was just revealed last year, the advent of the production-ready EV9 is only a few months away. We can’t wait to find out how far the concept has progressed and how much it will cost to implement. Do you think Kia will compete with luxury brands like Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz with the EV9, which supposedly combines the space and utility of a full-size SUV with a considerably more affordable price?

The EV9’s addition of a third row of seats is a clever decision that will set it apart from some of its competitors. This makes the Kia an affordable option for families who need a large cabin, a reasonable driving range, and fast charging.

What Will It Compete Against?

A relatively small number of alternative all-electric seven-seat SUVs are now available, nevertheless. The Rivian R1S, Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, and Tesla Models Y and X all offer seating for seven people across three rows. Luxury vehicles costing well over $75,000 fill the next two and a half rows, in stark contrast to the Model Y, which starts at just $65,990 as of this writing.

Kia may be the first manufacturer to provide a widely appealing three-row electric vehicle. Volkswagen’s ID.Buzz electric bus will be available in the US for a starting price of roughly $45,000. It would cost $55,500 to ship a Vinfast VF9 with three rows of seats to the United States. However, you won’t be able to get your hands on either of them until after the EV9.
