The changes on the 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift are cosmetic and no alterations are done to the mechanicals.
The updated version of the Chinese automaker’s smash hit, the Seltos, was recently spotted in South Korea. The cars themselves appear largely unaltered, although the facelift does bring about some cosmetic alterations.
After debuting in the Indian market in 2019, it has been three years since the Seltos had a refresh. Instagram user bpd calmfrog photographed Seltos’s makeover in South Korea before it hit the Indian market.
The Kia Seltos competes with compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, MG Hector, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun. Now that the Toyota Hyryder and Maruti Suzuki Vitara have entered the market, competition is fierce. Seltos, on the other hand, has built up his own fan base since its release, and the competition is heating up. While at the back you’ll find LED taillights in the style of the Kia Carens, with a red strap covering the whole boot and the Kia emblem imprinted right on it.
The Kia Seltos Facelift’s updated front fascia has redesigned daytime running lights (DRLs), a chrome grille ornament, and a brushed aluminium diffuser at the vehicle’s base. New machine-cut alloy wheels, measuring 18 inches in diameter, are the only external alteration. A set of taillights reminiscent of those on the Kia Carens can be seen at the very back, while a wide red strap wraps the entire liftgate and bears the company’s name.
All of the trim pieces and interior features of the updated Kia Seltos have been brought over unaltered. The interior is luxurious with leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel in addition to a big touchscreen multimedia display and digital driver instrument console.
The electromechanical parking brake and gear selector dial stand out on this worldwide refresh. To the best of our knowledge, these components are not included in the current iteration, but would be a welcome addition if Kia could acquire them. This upgrade will come at a higher cost, but it’s money well spent.
The 1.5-liter gasoline and diesel engines that are now in use will continue to produce 113 horsepower and 144 Newton-meters of torque, respectively. There is a 6-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed intelligent variable transmission, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) available (Continuous Variable Transmission). The potent 1.4-liter Turbo Petrol engine generates 138 horsepower and 242 Nm of peak torque and is paired with a choice of six-speed manual transmissions, six-speed continuously variable transmissions, or seven-speed dual clutch transmissions (Dual Clutch Transmission).
