It’s always thrilling to anticipate the release of a new muscle car, but the possibility is much more exciting when the car in question is the first all-electric AWD muscle car in the world. Stellantis recently held a virtual EV day, where they previewed various prospective electric vehicle concepts, including a new Dodge electric muscle car set for availability in 2024.
This will be a formidable rival to the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Porsche Taycan, and the soon-to-be-released Tesla Roadster.

New Dodge EV design
The new Dodge EV, which is being billed as the “world’s first EV muscle vehicle,” is cloaked in mystery and its lines are a blur of motion in the fog. A large, flat, and highly lighted grille is reminiscent of the 1970s Dodge Charger.
The bloated hood is a nod to classic muscle cars and a hint at the vehicle’s performance. More likely than a massive burbling V8 would be a set of charging cords or a trunk.
If you look closely, you can make out the upswept trunk’s pronounced integrated rear spoiler and the triangular emblem that Dodge used in the 1960s and 1970s.
Dodge’s parent company, Stellantis, is gambling heavily on the success of their first electric vehicle and is therefore likely to stay with the tried-and-true 2-door sports car design for the initial release.
2025 Dodge EMuscle Electric Muscle Car: Smoke All Four of ’Em
When even Dodge is planning to transition to electric vehicles, you know the revolution is on the verge of success. This is not to say that one must abandon their heritage. Dodge, creator of the Challenger, the Charger, the Hellcat, the Demon, and countless more macho badges, is presently manufacturing an electric muscle car as a bridge between its completely electrified future and its Hemi-powered past.
The retro design of the car will help in that regard. Our exclusive renderings and teaser photographs show that the car will have a boxy snout like the original Chargers of the late 1960s and early 1970s. The triangular Fratzog emblem from that era is also making a comeback and will likely be used on all of Dodge’s EVs in the future. There has also been talk of calling Dodge’s new muscle vehicle “muscular,” though whether or not that ends up being the case is anyone’s guess.
PLATFORM AND POWERTRAIN:
Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares called the car “so clever that it is astonishing.” The teaser pictures show smoke coming out of all four tyres, indicating all-wheel drive. Stellantis claims that the STLA Large platform will support motors with up to 443 hp each, bringing the maximum output of the muscle car to approximately 900 hp. The vehicle would feature all-wheel drive and at least two electric motors. Considering the Dodge brand’s past, it’s not out of the question that it will have three or perhaps four electric motors, resulting in a 0-60 mph pace of 2.0 seconds.
President and CEO of Dodge, Tim Kuniskis, has stated, “If an electric motor can make it quicker, we will do it.” As such a massive vehicle, the STLA Large’s battery packs will be between 101 and 118 kWh, giving it a theoretical maximum range of 500 miles. For fear of stigma, have you been hiding your burnout? But have no fear; Dodge engineered this vehicle to create an increasingly brazen sound when you floor the gas pedal.
ESTIMATED PRICE: Since Dodge has stated that the sweet spot for muscle cars is between $40,000 and $50,000, it is reasonable to conclude that the base price of the production electric muscle car will also be in this area. As a result of the increased demand for its high-end Hellcat and Demon models, Dodge plans to maintain its customary power-to-cost ratio while charging higher prices.
