Similar to the CB250R and CB1000R, the Honda CB150R is a Neo-Retro Cafe Racer.

Introduction to Honda CB150R

Honda CB150R: The Honda CB150, as a stripped-down street sports bike, looks fantastic and is well worth the asking price. The beast takes design cues from more advanced CB products, especially the CB250R, as a whole. The bicycle comes in four different color schemes and is packed to the gills with high-tech capabilities.

Since this isn’t a brand-new product, it has to live up to considerably higher standards. The original Honda CB150R simply called the Honda CBR150, debuted in 2012. A new machine built from the foundation of an old one.

However, it is significantly better constructed and assembled, but we cannot test it on Indian roads just yet because the motorcycle has not yet been released to the Indian market. However, there is a possibility that the Honda CB150R will be released to the Indian market in the second half of 2022. In the meantime, please review the accompanying documents.

Let’s take a round of history of the Honda CB150R

It was in 2012 at the Jakarta Motorcycle Show that the Honda CB150R was first shown to the public. This bike is built on a diamond truss frame and uses similar technology to the Honda CBR150R of the time, albeit with a different tuning.

Next, in 2015, Honda unveiled a revised CB150R that featured an upgraded engine, fresh aesthetics, flexible mounting options, LED lighting, and an all-digital instrument cluster.

A modified under-cowl design (exclusive to the SE edition), removable aluminum rear footsteps, a wavy disc brake, a new handlebar position, and a passing lamp switch were all added in 2018.

Finally, a new version of the CB150R motorbike was released with conventional upside-down front suspension forks in 2021.

CB150R Overview

Design

From the grips to the saddle, the classic cafe racer aesthetic is on full display. Design-wise, it lands in between a cafe racer and a naked sports bike. The round, segmented headlamp features the Honda logo in the center of the black segment.

The LED projector used for the headlights has a wide and effective beam. the fuel tank is positioned above the handlebars and has a direct relationship to the rider’s seat. Honda’s silver paint job on the gasoline tank, which matches the CB150R lettering on the radiator, is a nice touch.

Aside from that, you can see the frame through the transparent body, and the well-designed black-finished 150cc engine emits gases from a lower belly exhaust pipe.

CB 150R’s mono-shock suspension and passenger seat both fit comfortably thanks to the swingarm’s slight lengthening. This swingarm enhancement is also more stable in sharp turns and at high speeds. Tiny LED taillights and the seat’s key ring are located in the trunk.

Features and Offerings:

For starters, this 150cc street bike’s fully digital instrument cluster is a huge plus. In addition to showing the time, date, engine RPM, temperature, and fuel economy, it also functions as a fuel gauge, odometer, speedometer, trip a/b indicator, gear shift indicator, temperature gauge, and clock.

Looking at the mechanical features, we see that it has 296mm and 220mm disc plates with 4 piston calipers for the front, and hydraulic at the rear. The front 41mm USD (Upside Down Front Shock Absorbers) has a golden finish. While ABS is not available on all models.

Weighting in at 125 kilograms, the Yamaha MT 125 rival has a fuel capacity of 8.5 liters. On average, the Honda CB150R gets 45-50 kilometers per litre of gas.

Performance and Transmission

The Honda CB150R is propelled by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder, four-valve, direct-overhead-the-crankshaft (DOHC) engine producing 149cc. The engine is mated with a six-speed transmission. This engine produces a maximum of 13.6 Nm of torque at 8,000 RPM and 16.1 horsepower at 9,500 RPM. As for the CB150R, its highest speed is capped at 128 kilometers per hour.

The motor’s low-end torque is adequate, but it’s the midrange where it shines and provides thrilling performance on the open road. The ride is comfortable because of the reliable performance of the USB front forks.

The motorcycle has one flaw; the pillion seat is not as comfortable as it could be. For the same price, you can have more luxurious bikes from other manufacturers.

The aggressive riding stance is aided by the bike’s inner pivot diamond frame, which also facilitates leaning. Both the performance and the quality of the ride are satisfactory.

Competitor of 2021 Honda CB 150R

Yamaha’s MT 125 is one of the most formidable alternatives to the CB150R. It’s a six-speed motorcycle with a 124cc, single-cylinder engine that can generate 14.7 horsepower at 10,000 RPM and 11.5 Nm of torque at 8,000 RPM.

Performance-wise, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under 14 seconds, and its highest speed is electronically limited to 120 km/h, which is only 8 km/h slower than the CB150R’s top speed. As for the Yamaha MT 125 Price, it’s estimated to be around 1.50 Lakh (ex-showroom). Now that it’s available in India, the CBR150 will have to face stiff competition.

Conclusion

With 16.1 bhp of power and 45-50 km/l of mileage, the Honda New Bike CB150R is a potent streetfighter motorcycle. However, the power throw is continuing up until 9,000 RPM and the mid-range is more than adequate.

That means it’s a humming machine with plenty of peps in its step. You can wait for it if you want a commuter bike with reasonable power for everyday use.

Although no official date has been set, it is anticipated that the Honda CB150R New Bike will be introduced to the Indian market sometime in the second half of 2022. In addition to this, we can also observe several Emotion Micramoto-modified Cb150Rs.

Improved in both performance and appearance, the Honda Cb150R Exmotion MIcramoto is a step up from a regular motorcycle. In 2021, Honda plans to release several new motorcycles to the Indian market.
