Hero MotoCorp, the country’s largest two-wheeler maker, posted positive sales growth in September 2023 across motorcycles, scooters, domestic and exports segments.
The company sold a total of 5,36,499 units in September 2023, a 3% increase from 5,19,980 units sold in September 2022. This also marks a month-on-month growth from 4,88,717 units sold in August 2023.
Hero’s motorcycle sales saw a YoY growth to 4,94,270 units in September 2023, compared to 4,80,237 units last year. Scooter sales also rose to 42,229 units versus 39,743 units in September 2022.
On the domestic front, sales grew to 5,19,789 units in September 2023 from 5,07,690 units last year. Exports increased to 16,710 units from 12,290 units in September 2022.
The positive September sales come amid the ongoing festive season in India, helped by a good monsoon, higher disposable incomes and Hero’s continued resonance with buyers through its popular models like Splendor, Passion and Pleasure.
On a cumulative basis however, sales have dropped in the fiscal year so far. But Hero MotoCorp’s adaptive strategies and new product launches like the Xpulse 200 series and Xtreme 210 range aim to boost volumes going forward. The company is also gearing up to launch the Hero Xtreme 440 motorcycle in 2023.
