Sources close to Skoda India reveal the return of the B8 Superb is coming soon. The D-segment model, which was shelved with phase-2 BSVI norms, will have an updated engine. An exclusive document shared with Wheelwale shows only 100 units are planned for now. The limited batch will be brought to India as CBU per GSR 870 (E) dated September 13, 2018.

In summary, inside sources say Skoda is bringing back the Superb B8 in limited numbers soon, with a new engine meeting latest BSVI standards. Just 100 units of the D-segment car will arrive in India as Completely Built Up (CBU) imports based on recent government regulations.

Skoda Superb to Cost Rs 50 Lakh (ex-showroom)

While the next-gen Skoda Superb has been in the news, its India debut is still a while away. Meanwhile, the current Superb that went off market this year will return with key updates, as confirmed by Brand Director Petr Solc.

However, the leaked document shows the Superb would now cost around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). This big increase is due to switching from CKD to CBU. Our sources also reveal the return of the Octavia, but in vRS form. The Octy too would come in limited numbers at around the Superb L&K’s price.

The performance version of the popular sedan will have a 1.4 TSI engine with an electric motor and 13kWh battery making 245 hp combined.

In short, Skoda is bringing back the current Superb and Octavia vRS in limited units at higher CBU prices before the next-gen models arrive. Both will feature updated powertrains.
