Yamaha has introduced a special Monster Energy MotoGP edition of its popular Aerox 155 maxi scooter in India. The new livery is priced at Rs. 1.48 lakhs, just Rs. 1500 more than the standard model.
The Aerox 155 Monster Energy MotoGP Edition gets a racing-inspired makeover with Monster Energy branding on the front, sides and rear. The matte black base accentuates the vibrant logos and graphics inspired by Yamaha’s MotoGP team.
However, mechanically the scooter remains unchanged from the standard Aerox 155. It continues to be powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled engine producing 15hp and 14Nm, mated to a CVT gearbox. Hardware consists of telescopic forks, twin shocks, a front disc and ABS.
The Aerox 155 shares underpinnings with the R15 sportbike including its 155cc engine with VVA. At 126kg, the scooter strikes a balance between performance and practicality. Underseat storage is generous thanks to the central 5.5L fuel tank.
The new MotoGP edition aims to add visual excitement for Aerox 155 fans this festive season. Yamaha is also offering new color variants on its FZ-S Fi motorcycle. But the Aerox 155 remains mechanically identical barring the special edition livery.
Overall, the new Monster Energy MotoGP Edition promises Yamaha and MotoGP fans an attractive new style option. But the Aerox 155’s sporty capabilities that made it popular remain very much unchanged.
